Rogan Perkins, a 12 year old youth from Andover, donated art supplies and toys to the Wellsville Head Start Center. Christie Allen, Wellsville Early Head Start Center Manager, accepted the donation. Last year Rogan recognized that some families were having a tough year, some more than others. He wanted to use his artistic abilities to help make money to help somebody else. Rogan drew gnomes on canvas and started selling his drawings. Last year he raised $235 through canvas paintings and donated toys to the Andover Lions Club. This year, Rogan more than doubled his profits raising $725 from his Gnome drawings and ornaments (even custom orders!) through sales on Facebook and at a local holiday craft show hosted by the Funland Skate center. He bought presents for children with these funds and donated them to the Andover Lions Club for distribution. This year he exceeded the goal he set for himself and wanted to make an additional donation to younger children. Rogan purchased toys for children at the Wellsville Head Start, but most importantly he provided art supplies in hopes to inspire future artists. ACCORD Head Start would like to thank Rogan for his thoughtfulness and generosity!
